Considering a Holiday Weekend Wedding? Although the couple might be thinking that a holiday weekend is a surefire way for guests to be able to attend, often the opposite is true. Especially during the summer, holiday plans are often booked far in advance. Although people may have scheduled vacation time, it most likely doesn’t allow for them to attend someone’s wedding.
Unless the potential guest is very close to the couple, they might not want to spend one of their valuable holiday weekends off at a wedding. As a bride, this may be the most important day of your life, but the high school friend you haven’t spoken with since 1998 may not agree.
Holiday travel is often more expensive and time-consuming than on other weekends. Hotels get booked up, lines are longer at the airport, and patience runs thin.
If you are a couple thinking about having a holiday weekend wedding, remember these considerations. Try to book a block of rooms in advance at a better rate, provide more activities than you otherwise might, such as brunches or cocktail hours, and don’t take it personally if you get some declines on the RSVPs.
Remember that this will also be your anniversary. And the chances that you will be able to get away on 4th of July every year are probably pretty remote.

Stick to sleek and simple designs when combining these bright hues. Other interesting color combinations include: wine and olive in the fall, black and white accented with lemon yellow, and cerulean and sage for a chic duo.

Fresh Beach Themes
Beach themed and tropical destination weddings are always a hit because they combine the relaxed luxury of a vacation with the excitement of a wedding.

Clambakes and low country boils
Are rising in popularity, so look out for invitations featuring clams, oysters, or nautical elements like helms or anchors.

Go Green
Not all brides are capable of a totally green wedding, but many are including small touches like donations to environmental charities in their guest’s names as their wedding favors or registering for eco-friendly honeymoons.

Think Outside the Church
More and more couples are opting to be married in a location other than a church.
Outdoor weddings and weddings in interesting locations have become a popular way to make your wedding stand out.
If you are traditional and would like to use a church, try having your reception in a creative space like a museum or park. Often these types of spaces provide their own decoration and ambiance, and the cost of decorating is minimal.

Letterpress
The popular printing technique is not going anywhere anytime soon. The soft and indulgent paper textures coupled with the sophisticated designs leave letterpress the most wanted stationery among style-wise brides. This year, you will see more detailed letterpress designs from save the dates and invitations to programs.

Bigger blooms peeking out from the corner of square shaped or layered invitations are unique and contemporary. Pressed or dried flowers may also rise in popularity as an embellishment. Brocades will remain popular, as will black silhouettes of classic flowers on bright or pastel cardstock.
